i want to change to digital...

hello, i want to change to digital , but there is something i dont understand. i want to use my camra proffesionally. for some reason i kno that digital camera today with a reasonable price ( like the canon rebel ) are not good enough for pro people. altouhgh it{s 6.3 Mpix. what is the difference between this camera and the more expensive ones that ARE good enough for pro photographers ? thanks , shlomo

The Digital Rebel

is just like any other film camera of the Rebel line. It's equivelant to the Rebel 2000 or EOS300V film camera. (I assume you're familiar with Canon so I will mention only Canon cameras. Correct me if I'm wrong.) The more advanced cameras, let's call them semi-pro, are the EOS D30, D60, 10D & 20D, of which only the 10D and 20D are current, with the 10D gradually fasing out. The semi-pro cameras have a better built body (metal inner structure), more advanced features (like mirror lock-up, FEC, bigger buffer, hihgher frame rate etc.) The pro cameras are the 1D, 1D markII, 1DS & 1Ds mark II (only the mark II's are current) have a built-in grip, much higher frame rate, larger buffer, larger sensor (smaller crop factor). All the above cameras produce great images (depending on the photographer, of course) which will print nicely. I reccomend a visit to www.dpreview.com for great reviews on all these cameras.
