how much did you spend?

Yesterday I did the shopping for school. 2 children, no books what_so_ever, just supplies, no bags (yalkutim...) = 270ns! I bought few "pinukim" such as Harry-Potter "kalmar" and such, but the rest is the regular, no-brand stuff. Is it normal? cheap? expensive??? which leads me to THE question. How can we control the "tsarchanut tagim"? With all due respect...Harry Potter, Yosi Ben Ayun, Lagaat Baosher.....they cost TWICE and sometimes 3!!! times more!!!! with 2 kids is school.....I don´t want to have to take second mortgage just for the school supplies! In my case we decided on 2 "pinukim" for each child, on a totel of 50ns (to both). how do you deal with that? r/

אני חושבת שמה שעשית היה מאד נכון -

להסכים מראש שכל אחד יוכל לקבל 2 "פינוקים". אפשר גם להסכים, שאת תממני את הפריטים הרגילים, ואם הם ירצו "לשדרג" אותם זה יהיה על חשבון דמי הכיס שלהם. בהקשר הזה אני זוכרת, שכשהייתי בתיכון תמיד רציתי לקנות ג´ינסים ממותגים. אמא שלי אמרה לי שהיא מוכנה לתת ליכסף בשביל לקנות ג´ינס "רגיל" - אם אני מתעקשת לקנות דוקא מותג, אני יכולה להשלים את זה מכספים שאני מרוויחה. בזמנו הייתי מתרגזת עליה בגלל זה, אבל היום, ממרומי מושבי כהורה, זה נראה לי מאד נכון, ואני אסירת תודה לה על שנהגה כך.

גם אני ערכתי קניות לבית הספר

בחרתי מקום שמראש ידעתי שהוא אינו יקר, "כפר השעשועים" קניתי לה מחברות רגילות לגמרי ונתתי לה לבחור 2 מחברות מיוחדות. יומן לא הסכמתי לקנות בשלושים שקלים, היה יומן של כלבים דלמטים חמוד ב 4.5 ש"ח. היא בחרה לה טושים יקרים ויפים ושאר הדברים קנינו סטנדרט. שלמתי 80 שקלים.

but in addition, we had "klaserim" (one "pinuk" and 3 regular 2ns-each...), and "nylon pas lavan"...and 2 other tyes of :klaserim"...and NO! they are not "pri mochi hakodeach"!!! they were on the list!!!!! I guess this is an offtopic "educational" subject...the list that they give us at school........bits me, but I went thru 16 years of school (not all of them at first grade...) and didn´t even know those things existed!!!!!!!! r/

אצלנו ההנהלה פתרה את הבעיה

נתנה הודעה שכל המחברות צריכות להיות ללא ציורים באשר הם, ואין להביא קלמרים ממותגים, מדבקות ממותגות, ואפילו לגבי ילקוטים בקשו כשרשמנו את הילדים להקפיד שהמסר של הדמויות יהיה חיובי. כך, נחסך מאיתנו הויכוח - אסור בתכלית האיסור - ביה"ס לא מאפשר וזהו.

Asur?

the question is-do the children follow this Isur... Yahli´s school, as a part of the new policy, also sent a note to the parents that ASK them not to buy expensive stuff. Shachar´s school still ignores the reality...they still don´t understand that people are struggeling for every shekel..... So-I put my limits, and from what I heard- other parents in our neighbourhood (middle-class, working hard and not that poor people) did the same. MY task as a parent is to teach my children the value of a shekel, and I hope I do I good job. r/

כמה זה עולה אני אדע עוד יומיים

מגיע אלינו יריד לקראת בית הספר שאמור להיות מאד זול - 12 עפרונות ב-2.20 ש"ח לדוגמא, אז אני אקנה שם. בכל מקרה, הכללים שלי לגבי קניות לבית ספר הם כאלו: אני קונה מחברות פשוטות, חומות (במילא עוטפים אותן) ומדבקות למחברות לפי בחירה. השנה כבר עדי הזמינה מדבקות פוקימון. קלסר אחד אני נותנת לבחור "יקר" והשאר "פושטים". למזלי, היא עוד לא דורשת יומן (למרות שהצעתי) אז חסכתי 50 ש"ח.
