By hook and by crook

Fine thank you, and you? Welcome! Well, for one thing, I write people. The usual way, reading, watching tons of TV without subtitles, listening to hips of music and ultimately, writing writing writing. How did I GET to be fluent in English? Gee, I really can't tell you since I've been able to talk fluently for a very long time now. However, if I had to say, I'd say all of the aforrmentioned activites have contributed to it. Look, I don't reckon being fluent in English in Israel is that big of a deal... You start studying English in what, the third grade? About five time a week? Plus TV, music, movies. There's English pretty much everywhere, all you need to do is work hard and you'll be talking fluently in no time. Now being accurate, that's a whole other story.

i think

you kinda take speaking english fluently for granted... coz not all ppl speak fluently and yet they all have english lessons 5 times a week, as u said... i'm doing my best to get better and better, and having a good accent, as well as being fluent, are very important things for me. my dream is to study abroad, preferably in NY - and that may improve my english instantly...

from experience

one month aboard would really help your english
anyways, till then, READ. very, very helpful. Write. practice as much as you can- work on spelling and grammer. Personally, I don't watch that much tv, but choose a program you like and watch it. you can probably find it online(sometimes they have captions in korean, so if you speak korean, don't read them
) An exercise I find useful is translating texts and stuff. not practicle when writing essays, but still. Oh, and a great way to expand your vocabulary is to translate Hebrew sings into english, making them rhyme and be as close to their original meanings as possible. good luck

I

Am not taking it for granted, I don't think it's a big deal, that's all. So what if a lot of striplings don't make the most out of their English lessons? That only tells you something about them. I pointed out that the enviroment in Israel is one of the best in the world for studying English, the amount of exposure to English is incredible. I wish you all the luck in the world in your journy. Keep in mind that the US is not only NY, on the contrary, school wise.
