Help with translation and grammar

Hi, I need some help with translation and grammar, This is the Hebrew original sentence: "א"ר (אמר רבי) יוחנן, מיום שחרב בית המקדש ניטלה נבואה מן הנביאים וניתנה לשוטים ולתינוקות. גמרא And this is how I translate it: said Rabbi Yochanan, “from the day that the holy temple was destroyed, the prophecy has taken from the prophets, and had given to the fools and to the babies” Talmud I am not sure if it is correct, I appreciate if some confirm it, Thanks

Well... Sorry..... :) So I'll try again: Can I write: said Rabbi Yochanan, “Since the day that the holy temple was destroyed, the prophecy has taken from the prophets, and had given to the fools and to the babies” Talmud Is : "and had given to the fools and to the babies" is right syntactically? Thanks
