Hello

Couple of questions.. 1. What is the best way to ask for someone's height? Is there more than one way? 2. If someone is telling me that he is working..so I can ask: What do you do?\What are you doing?\Where do you work?\Where are you working? I've never really understood the difference between do and are, like, what's the difference between let's say....... : "Where do you stay?", "Where are you staying?" Hope I made myself clear..THanks!

1. What's your height? 2. What do you do for a living? 3. The meaning of these senteces is the same, but each sentence is written in another form of writing, and in each form you write different words...

."how tall are you?" would be the best, i think "what do you do" or "where are you working?" ... are good...also"what do you do for living?" is good if you want to bring the subject up. uh, and usually present simple (is, are ) is refering to something that is happening right at this instant, where "do" refers to over a period of time. so in this case it wouldn't be exactly it, where do you stay would be used in "oh, so you moved to college? where do you stay" (cause you'd live there for a year or so) and where are you staying would be used in"oh, you moved away from home? where are you staying while you're moving all of your stuff?" (cause it's a shorter period of time)
