i've check the website of Dell, Toshiba, HP and the best computer i've came with is the Hp zd8000, this lap comes with the followings: Operating System Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Home Edition with SP2 edit Processor Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 520 w/HT Technology, 2.8GHz edit Display 17.0" WSXGA+ BrightView Wide Viewing (1680x1050) edit Memory 1.0GB DDR2 SDRAM, 533MHz (2x512MB) edit Hard Drive 60 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive edit Primary CD/DVD Drive DVD+/-RW/R & CD-RW Combo w/Double Layer Support edit Networking Integrated 56K Modem + 10/100 Ethernet LAN edit Graphics Card 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) X600 edit Primary Battery 12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery edit Productivity Software Microsoft(R) Works/Money edit it's price is :1399 US $. now i have a few Q about it: 1. do i need high such a high resolution screen or i can take the 1440x900 insteed? 2. what about a DVD burner? is this thing will soon be a must? it's 50$ more then a reguler CD/DVD combo 3. how about HP laptops in israel? do they have any servise in israel? 4. about ther Processor, what is the differnce between Pentium(R) 4 and Core(TM) Duo or any other kind of processors? לגבי סעיפים 2+3

2. צורב DVD מתחיל להיות סטנדרט במחשבים ניידים. זה תמיד יכול להועיל, אפשר להכניס על דיסק כזה פי 5 בערך מדיסק רגיל. זה יכול לחסוך המון (מקום וכסף). 3. יש נציגות של HP בישראל (HP ישראל), אבל אני לא יודע אם האחריות של החברה בארה"ב תתקבל בישראל. בשנה האחרונה יש הרבה דיווחים על בעיות בשירות של HP בישראל. הרבה כתבות בעיתונות. דבר זה גרם לחברה להחליף את המעבדה שנותנת שירות, כך שיש עוד סיכוי שהמצב ישתפר (זה נראה שהם בכיוון לשיפור). חשוב לבדוק את הדגם הנ"ל נמכר בישראל (ראיתי אותו ביבוא של אתר פרטי ולא של HP ישראל). אם הוא לא נמכר בישראל, עלולה להיות בעיה עם שירות כי לא יהיו להם חלפים (עניין של יותר זמן ואולי תוספת תשלום).

one more question. i forgot to ask about an internet reuter. i have a reuter in my home, so my q is do i need a speicel card or this card is fine: Networking Integrated 56K Modem + 10/100 Ethernet LAN and what do you think about this laptop? worth it?

אני חושב שעדיף ללכת על הרזולוציה הנמוכה יותר כיוון שצפייה ברזולוציה נמוכה על מסך LCD ברזולוציה גבוהה יותר נראית לא חדה וזה יכול לפגוע בחוויית השימוש. רזולוציות גבוהות יותר מתאימות לדעתי למסכים גדולים יותר 19"
