Fellowship, Scholarship?

Hi All... Writing in English since I don't have Hebrew here but feel free to answer in Hebrew. So, my question is (probably not the first time, but I can't seem to find it in the forum) I got accepted to PHD in Nutrition in a Private Institute in California - Loma Linda Uni. Currently living in CA so I don't have the expenses of moving. BUT - I am looking for some funding which I can't seem to get. The only ones are specific to a certain Uni. or certain state, not to mention that most of them are for Bachelor degree or Post Doc. Anyway, my question is, where can I find sources to contact for financial help. (As i mentioned most , if not all, are not relevant to my degree). I will appreciate any lead. THANK YOU! Ella

אני לא מוצא עדות לכך, אבל כבר היית בפורום, נכון?

ברוב המוסדות והתחומים, דוקטורנטים מקבלים מימון מהמוסד/מחלקה/מנחה שלהם, ולא זקוקים למלגה מעבר לכך. לומה לינדה מוסד קצת שונה להבנתי, קצת כמו ה - "בר אילן" של קליפורניה

אם הם לא מציעים מלגות, את אכן בבעיה..

את אזרחית אמריקאית? מחזיקת GC? או שאת על ויזה אחרת כרגע? והאם יש למוסד הזה משרד של FINANCIAL AID?

Hi yes that's me, just couldn't find my old .password so I did new registration Here's the thing, Loma Linda is private and .not "giving" away money .that's part of the problem I know that almost all Israelis get .fellowships .So I guess I should give it a try .That's what I'm looking for Names of fellowships that I can contact, or people who got the fellowship thing and can .share and help on how to get it

Almost all Israelis? What are you talking about?

Israelis get the same everyone gets - tuition fee waivers and stipends for being research and teaching assistants.. And they get these from the university or department they work for or their advisors. It seems like you don't have those options..

כל האנשים שאת מכירה שמקבלים מלגות לדוקטורט

מקבלים אותם מהמוסד/מחלקה שלהם.
זה לא קשור למוסד פרטי או ציבורי - או ליתר דיוק, מוסדות פרטיים בדרך כלל יותר נדיבים בתחום המלגות שלהם.

אין כמעט גופים חיצוניים שנותנים מלגות לדוקטורט, ולמען האמת ברוב המקרים ההמלצה היא "אל תעשה תכנית דוקטורט שלא משלמת לך".

מה שנותר לך לעשות לדעתי

הוא להתחיל את חובות השמיעה שם, אם יש כאלו, ותוך כדי כך להגיש מועמדות לאוניב' אחרות שכן משלמות.
היות וכבר יש לך את כל הניירת והמסמכים מוכנים ואת כבר בארה'ב יש סיכוי שיעדיפו אותך על פני מועמדים שאינם בצפון אמריקה שנתוניהם דומים.
את מי שהיה אמור להנחות אותך בלומה לינה אפשר יהיה תמיד לשלב בועדת הדוק' כבוחן או מנחה חיצוני אם ההתמחות שלהם ייחודית או משמעותית להצלחת הפרוייקט.
