Yes,

There is a 2 point subject to the Bagrut called "Translation". Unlike what most people think - it does NOT add up to 7 points in English, but is seperate from the English grade in the bagrut card. At any case, you usually need a minimum of 80 in 5pt English to get in. The bagrut itself doesn't do much to your bagrut card other than adding 2 extra points. There is no bonus to this subject. So unless you're doing it for fun, there is no point of taking this class. I'm saying that even though I took it myself.

Oh, yeah

Me and a good friend of mine were the first year this particular English teacher (who wasn't the best. Nice, but not the best) tried to teach Translation. She gave us really high grades, but that could have been because she liked us (we once went over to her house for a lesson...). There's a book called "Translation - Two-Way Traffic" and it's possible that it's the only book (at least that's how I remember it). It got difficult sometimes and I really learned a lot, though as flutter girl said, if you're not doing it for fun then I wouldn't really bother.

It's fun,

but quite useless, because unless your grades average is pretty low, it will be excluded from the optimal average calculation universities use.
