Dogs and an x girlfriend

Hi Girls my girlfriend and i are together for the past a year and half (she moved in with us sep).. p when i meet her she was just getting out from a 4 years relationship they have 2 dogs which she brings here every other week i dont mind...(or maybe i do???) but i feel sometime that they can not let go of their old relationship (they work at the same place) i spoke to her about it last night she said its like having kids.. i dont feel that way! what do you say? how do you feel about sharing the dogs?

I'm a little bit too young for that, but I hope you'll consider what I have to say: I know that being in this kind of relationship might be hard, and even harder to believe that she's not into her ex-girlfriend; however, she has her dogs, and she says that they are like having children of her own. I guess you think that the dogs are what keeps the connection between them 'alive' but you said that they work together... I don't know if she has feelings for the ex but it's pretty clear that she love the dogs. Asking for her to give up of something she love is selfish: you can suggest a new solution (like meeting every weekend somewhere, taking the dogs for a walk and giving them back to the ex), and hope she'll agree. If you can't stand it anymore, you can talk to her again and emphasize the fact it's bodering you... If you're in a good relationship I'm sure you'll be able to find a solution that both of you like. I hope that my English isn't that bad and I helped, even a little bit. Lilach.

By the way i can read hebrew its just that my computer will not write it I finally spoke to her about it she will give up the dogs and we will get a new dog it may sound wrong but.. i know that once i am over a relationship i move on, i know she loves me i just need to be more open.. Hmmmm

Not an easy question Evn though you guys have sorted it out, I wanted to give you my poit of view as a dog lover. I have had dogs that have been like children to me so I understand what your girlfriend feels. My advice: even if you don't agree with her, let her know you respect her feelings towards the dogs. I find a little understanding and sympathy go a long way. Good luck girls!!

Thanks for your answer im willing to get a dog together.. just waiting for a nicer weather so we can train the dog (toooo cold now) p and will let her know!! thanks
