אני מניקה את בתי בת ה-3 חודשים, ויש לי כאב כלשהו בבוהן ברגל שנמשך כבר תקופה ארוכה, ולגילוי סיבת הכאב המליצו לי לעשות CT לבוהן (לאחר שכל הבדיקות שלפני זה לא מצאו דבר). הרופא אמר לי שאסור לי לעשות CT כיוון שאני מניקה והחומר הרדיואקטיבי עלול לחדור לגוף שלי ומשם ישירות לחלב. השאלה שלי היא כמה זמן החומר הזה יהיה בגוף שלי לאחר שיעשו את ה-CT, כי אם לא להרבה זמן אז אני יכולה לתת לילדה שלי חלב שהקפאתי (יש לי הרבה חלב קפוא) ואת מה שאני ישאוב אני אזרוק כמובן. תודה מראש הדס

CT and breastfeeding

"This can now be done better and faster with CT scan, which does not require interrupting breastfeeding for even 1 second." Here is one site where I got this information. Does this make sense especially when they do CT to babies? there is no reason to stop breastfeeding if you do a CT. here is another "Newer imaging methods such as CT scan and MRI scans are of no concern, even if contrast is used. And special X-rays using contrast media? As long as no radioactive isotope is used there is no concern and the mother should not stop even for one feed. What about studies using radioactive nucleotides (bone scans, lung scans, etc.)? The baby will get a little radioactive nucleotide. However, as we often do these very same tests on children, even small babies, and the potential loss of benefits if the mother stops breastfeeding are considerable, the mother should continue breastfeeding.​
