Hi everyone Dad writes We have a healthy 12-day old boy but both him and his mum are constipated. He is being breast fed. At first he was doing his ´kaki´ normally, but now not for 2 full days. His mum is also constipated and it is agony to go to the toilet . Are the two related ? Can you suggest ways to make things normal again for mum and baby so that baby gets the nourishment he needs and mum does not need to take a strong laxative Thank you for your suggestions Dad

are two different issues. In the baby it may mean that he is not getting enough milk. Is he only breastfeeding or is he getting artificial milk also? I would recommend a visit with a yoetset hanaka. If you tell me where you live, I will refer you to someone. In the meantime, I would suggest that after each feed, you give the baby 5 spoons of your wife;s milk from each breast. Does the baby have enough wet diapers? at least 5-6 very wet diapers in 24 hours? AS for your wife, here is my famous recipe for bran muffins which are guarenteed to get her intestines moving. Many women are afraid to have a bowel movement after the birth because they are afraid that it will hurt. Make her these bran muffins, and she will love you forever and a day!!​
