connecting an external microphone

hello everyone, I have the iPAQ 3950 and I want to connect an external microphone via the earphone connector. I found some instructions of how o do it with the iPAQ 3650, and it involves wiring and soldering on the PCB, but it doesn't fit the PCB in the 3950. Can someone help?

where did you find

these instruction ? i have the jornada 568 and as i know, there is no mic input only hp OUTput i wish in the new models also an mic input !!!
