College - week 10 + competition
Hi all, I have too short time to write about the Michigan - Ball state game so it will be in the near future. Any way, it was thrilling and wonderful all together. What a week for college football fans! Two ranked teams, #25 Wash. state (27 - 17) and #19 Clemson (13 - 12), were shocked at home by unranked opponents, Arizona and Maryland respectively. #13 LSU beat #8 Tennessee on the road 28 - 24 in a thriller, #22 Wake Forest beat #16 Boston College 21 - 14, and #18 Oklahoma beat #21 Texas A&M 17 - 16. Many other highly ranked teams struggled against inferior opponents as well: #1 Ohio state worked very hard to beat Illinois 17 - 10 in a game that went down to the last play. #2 Michigan had a close one with Ball state but came out with a 34 - 26 win. #5 Louisville as you already know beat #3 West Virginia 44 - 34 on Thursday. #7 Florida beat Vanderbilt 25 - 19. #12 Arkansas had to fight almost to the last play against South Carolina, just to beat the Gamecocks 26 - 20. #17 Wisconsin in a defensive show beat Penn state 13 - 3. #20 Georgia Tech beat NC state 31 - 23. #23 Virginia Tech beat Miami 17 - 10. Easy games were the previlage of relatively few teams this time: #4 Texas - Oklahoma state 36 - 10 #6 Auburn - Arkansas state 27 - 0 #9 USC - Stanford 42 - 0 #10 Cal - UCLA 38 - 24 #11 Notre Dame - North Carolina 45 - 26 #14 Boise state - Fresno state 45 - 21 on Wednesday #24 Oregon - Washington 34 - 14 The polls are expected to look about like this: 1. Ohio state 2. Michigan 3. Louisville 4. Texas 5. Auburn 6. Florida 7. USC 8. California 9. West Virginia 10. Notre Dame 11. LSU 12. Arkansas 13. Boise state 14. Tennessee 15. Rutgers 16. Wisconsin 17. Oklahoma 18. Wake Forest 19. Georgia Tech 20. Oregon 21. Virginia Tech 22. Maryland 23. Nebraska 24. Texas A&M 25. BYU Clemson could also be in the #24 or #25 spot. so the correct guess in our competition was: Louisville Ball state LSU Wake Forest Oklahoma Bonus: USC scored less than 44.5 points Our competition leader board looks like this: 1. Stan123 36 2. first and inches 31 3. Amir BA 30 4. Yo-man 28 5. ofribecker 26 See you all later.
