College, sorry for the latency

I am in Washington DC at the moment and haven't had internet access till now, so here is the summary of this week in college football. Number 1 USC smashed Washington state 55 - 13 with Matt Leinart passing 24 of 34 for 364 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. The trojans had 745 yards of total offense Number 2 Texas had quite a fight till late in the game when it trailed Oklahoma state 28 - 9 before Vince Young finally found the formula and led the longhorns to a 47 - 28 win Number 3 Virginia Tech made another statement on Thursday when it defeated number13 Boston College 30 - 10 with Marcus Vick passing 22 of 28 for 280 yards and a TD In the SEC battle of the week number 16 Florida knocked off number 4 Georgia 14 - 10 in a defensive fight. For the bulldogs started Joe Tereshinski as QB replacing injured D.J. Shockley but he couldn't face the well trained Florida defense that held him to only 100 yards passing and 1 INT Number 5 Alabama had no trouble beating Utah state 35 - 3 and so did number 6 Miami that defeated NC by the score of 34 - 16 and number 7 LSU that routed North Texas 56 - 3 Number 8 UCLA sweated tons before winning 30 - 27 over intrastate rival Stanford in OT Number 10 Florida state had to show some character as they ended up winners 35 - 27 over Maryland after trailing at halftime 21 - 14 Number 11 Penn state placed another punch in the face of the Purdue boilermakers 33 - 15 and look as the mostlikely team to win the Big Ten this season as they face Wisconsin next saturday, both with only one conference loss Number 12 Ohio state had a close game with Minnesota before they went up by 21 in the 4th and won 45 - 31 with Antonio Pittman rushing 186 and 2 TDs for the buckeyes Number 15 Wisconsin had no trouble with the fighting Illini and beat them 41 - 24 Number 17 Texas Tech had some hearts beat when they were leading over the Baylor bears at the half 6 - 0, but Cody Hodges and his red raiders gained some strength in the second half and went on to win it 28 - 0 Number 19 Auburn beat Mississippi 27 -3 Number 20 TCU had to play till the last minute to win 23 - 20 over San Diego state In the game I attended in Evanston Illinois number 25 Michigan won on the road over number 21 Northwestern by the score of 33 - 17 after 27 - 17 at the half. After less than 6 minutes of play it was 14 - 0 Michigan after a TD on their first possession and another one made by the defense on a fumble return. The wildcats scored 10 unanswered before two Garret Rivas fieldgoals sandwiched in the middle by a TD. Late in the second Qtr Northwestern scored another TD. In the second half it was all Michigan's defense holding the wildcats scoreless. Michigan's Place Kicker Garret Rivas scored 4 fieldgoals and kicked 8 kickoffs all of which went in and out of the endzone for touchbacks. He's my MVP of the game Number 22 Fresno state beat Hawaii 27 - 13 Number 23 Tennessee was knocked off 16 - 15 by South Carolina and will not have a chance of winning the SEC anymore. AP poll has been released and goes as follows: 1. USC 2. Texas 3. Virginia Tech 4. Alabama 5. Miami 6. LSU 7. UCLA 8. Notre Dame 9. Florida State 10. Penn State 11. Georgia 12. Ohio State 13. Florida 14. Wisconsin 15. Oregon 16. Texas Tech 17. Auburn 18. West Virginia 19. Boston College 20. TCU 21. Fresno State 22. Michigan 23. California 24. Louisville 25. Colorado See ya next week

קולג'- תוספות
