buying gear in argentina
hello everybody to those how think of coming to argentina and buy the gear here i have some bad news. I`m in bouenos aires now. They have very little variety of equipment and most of the time it`s not even getting close to what we have in Israel and the prices are very much a like . the best things I saw here were of “doite” (a Chilean company) which looks like old models of lowe alpine (aps 5 ). Tents (which are the only thing maybe worth buing here) cost 280 pesos (1 peso=1.5 shekel) for a simple one with rain cover and 750 pesos for a good tent (mountaineering) . sleeping bags are very bad – too heavy !!! and good fleece cost like in Israel. The only good thing here is termicl underwear (30 pesos each part) My advice is to buy every thing together in Israel. Pay in cash and you`ll get a good price. The only 2 things worth waiting for are the termicl under wear and maybe micro fleece shirt and pants (60-80 pesos). I found good prices in eilat (azimut) , lametayel hjiafa(for a big purchas) in maslul in tel aviv and some things in the on line store of lapidot (cheap fleece jackets). Don`t forget rain suites and “ardalayim”(it`s great and you can find it in the bike stores in Israel like “brosh” ) – they have here very shity things (for 100 pesos minimum ) Buy every thing in Israel!!!!!!!
