Belgium, Holland or Luxembourg

Belgium, Holland or Luxembourg

Hi everyone, I need some advice: if you could choose to move to one country of these three (Belgium, Holland or Luxembourg), which would it be? We are an Israeli family currently living in the US, but we might have the opportunity to live in one of the above locations. Our kids speak English, so we would be looking for an expat community and probably an International school. Which country would you recommend? Thanks!​

הרבה אנשי עסקים עוברים לגור שם בגלל זה . למה שלא תשלחו את הילדים לבית ספר רגיל שירכשו עוד שפה זה אף פעם לא מזיק, תתפלא כמה אנגלית זו לא השפה המרכזית באירופה.. אגב השם לשלושת המדינות בקיצור הוא בנלוקס

I agree with you about the language. Both I and the kids already know a bit of French and Spanish, and we would love them to know other languages too, but one will be in his senior year of high school so it might be easier for him to finish his high school education in a language he is fluent in. As for Luxembourg; how would you describe the lifestyle there? Of course, that's a very general question and to each his own.... but I'm just trying to get a feeling of where we would enjoy living. Do you know of families living there? Thanks again, any input is helpful!​

הכרתי מישהי שהיתה עם בעלה שם שלוש שנים הוא ניהל את בנק הפועלים שם , אבל וזה אבל גדול היא בלגית מהצד הצרפתי ובעלה מרוקאי כך ששניהם דיברו צרפתית בבית והיה להם קל מאד להסתדר (שפה זה גורם מאד מאד חשוב להשתלבות או הבנה של תרבות מקומית). הילדים שלהם גם דוברים צרפתית מהבית והם הלכן לבית ספר מקומי . הם נהנו מאד בשהיה שלהם. זוג אחר שאני מכירה לא רע הם דנים ועברו ללוקס לפני חמש שנים ,שניהם אנשי עסקים ועברו לשם בגלל שיטת המיסוי הנוחה, הם מאד נהנים שם ויש עוד כמה אנשים מדנמרק שעברו בעקבותיהם , כמו שאתה יודע זה חלק משיטת האיחוד שאפשר להתישב בכל מקום במדינות ביבשת ששיכות לאיחוד בלי שום בעיות ,לפי מה שהבנתי מהם האוכלוסיה היא ברמה מאד גבוהה וכמעט אין שונות באנשים , כלומר אותה רב תרבותיות שנפוצה ביבשת לטוב ובעיקר לרע כמעט ולא קיימת שם בעיקר בגלל שקשה מאד להגר לשם מאז ומתמיד . לדעתי תעשה טיול לשלושת המדינות ואיפה שתרגיש הכי "בבית " שמה תקבע את מושבך.

I agree that language plays a huge part in how easily someone acclimates to a new place. We'll try to improve our French in preparation, just in case we wind up in either Brussels or Luxembourg. Dutch is too far a stretch for me... and from what I hear it's probably easiest to survive in Holland with English than any of the other locations I mentioned. (ואני גרה בבלגיה) בלגיה אחלה, אבל לטעמי הולנד מתאימה יותר למשפחה שרוצה לחנך את הילדים בבית ספר לאומי (כאילו, אמסטרדם VS בריסל, אין בכלל על מה לדבר). ולוקסמבוג קטנה מאוד.
