Balcony or terrace

What is the different between balcony and terrace?

i would say

that a balcony is what you typically see in israel, that thing "sticking" out of the house where most people tend to have their smoking area a terrace is bigger and is something you find for example in hotels, in the form of an outdoor pool on the third level or so or simply balcony - smaller terrace - bigger
