An idea for a game...

"Interview of the week", each week we'll choose a different forum member to be asked questions, you can spam the hell out of him, but only upto 10 questions per member. Ask about anything you want, but he may veto any given question, though I'd hope not. The person will be interviewed for an entire week, starting today, and after he is done - he gets to choose the next participant, as long as he agrees. Who wants to go first?

you may ask more than 10 you know

1) Pretty good... can't really complain (except for the weather really, one of the worst summers in a while! It’s raining in the morning, then its 37 around midday and then rain again!) 2) Woke up, read a few lovely chapters about cournot-nash equilibrium and how it has nothing to do with the real world (like most theories in economics), went for some food gathering at the local supermarket, then continued increasing my perplexity regarding Stackelberg's model about optimizing output in a multi-period game, cooked dinner for me and my dad (I like!) and then ended up answering your questions 3) Sitting outside on the riverbanks from the afternoon till midnight with friends, smoking, drinking (just “hangin’ loose” like the PUTS put it) and then continue to the new venue the opened in town; heard its orgasmicaly good 4) I have absolutely no idea about these kinds of things. It’s hard enough for me to plan what I am going to do next week, so you are asking me about my distance future? 5) Of course I do, like everyone in a somewhat lengthy relationship does every so often. But being realistic and putting the romanticism aside for a moment, it is all too unlikely, given the fact that a) she isn't Jewish b) I don't think I have the right to ask her to convert – meaning no wedding as far as you ask my family (all of the sudden we are orthodox Jews…) c) you saw her (sort-ofish), you really think she wants to end up with someone like me?
6) Haha... a really random snippet actually. I remember lying in my stroller (guessing I was around 2) when it started raining. My mother covered me with this rain protection thing, so I turn around and puff... memory over 7) Last time I cried. Let’s see. I think when it was finally over between me and my (all so cursed) ex-girlfriend. Let’s just not mention that whore. And when I say whore, I do mean it. No, not figuratively. 8) Yes. I think. I mean, it’s really hard to tell, because what is close? I see people around me that seem to be closer to their parents on many levels, in the sense that they tell them a lot more, but then again they are not close at all on other levels. When I think about, the people I consider "closer" are all girls.... hmmmm... guess you simply talk so much more, both to them, and to me, about how much you talk to them... 9) I thank my parents for making sure I grew up pretty much fearless (and not in the Conan the Barbarian sense of the word). I do not want to sound too cocky, but I honestly cannot thing of anything specifically that frightens me. Fear is a wasted emotion I believe, as it often has to do with things you cannot change (broken heart, loss of a family member…). What is the point fearing something you cannot affect? And if in fact you CAN affect it, why then fear it? 10) Go back to 4. But I really would like to get a freakishly cool job at some NGO (or other international organization such as the African Development Bank) and find a project close to my heart and beliefs, where I can actually have an impact. I hate people shouting slogans and doing nothing about it. I think it was Mother Teresa that said “we cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love”. I honestly believe that if every person finds something he cares about, and acts accordingly, this world would be a much better place (such a hippie!)

nice one!

1) Music is music is music. That would be as if you asked me who I like more, my mother or my father. 2) Changes every other day. just a few: Five Deez, People Under the Stairs, Daft Punk, The Roots, Israel Vibration, Thievery Corporation... 3) I really liked Inland Empire, in a sadistic, twisted way. But also a few classics like Taxi Driver, The Godfather, Fight Club, City of God was really good, Nirgedwo in Africa... 4) hmmm... maybe the Outsider by Albert Camus. Haven’t read it in a while though. And Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. The Republic by Plato... your questions are all too narrowing! 5) Noam Chomsky for being an ingenious Wordsmith. Sartre for being so French. And Nietzsche for killing god. Keynes was cool as long as he stayed politically incorrect. 6) Amm... onomatopoeia? The only word in English to have all 5 vowels
7) Would I or do I? Fluently 3 (Hebrew, English and German) and then a fair bit of Dutch and Spanish and I pretty much understand Russian (as long as it is not Pushkin that is) although I cannot speak it what so ever. I would like to speak Spanish fluently, as well as some non Indo-European language... maybe Japanese if I ever get to it. 8) High (on life that is!) 9) Ahhh.... wow... ahhh... Jew-boy? (sorry.. the "oi" just asked for it) 10) Sure he can! Just like he can create the universe in 6 days! And put fake dinosaurs’ bones in the ground to baffle us and make us wonder "God, where art thou dude?"

yippie...another one

1) Eran Charit 2) 20 3) dammmmmmmmmmm this is a real hard one. I think I'll opt for Thai cuisine, specifically Tom Yam Gung and Gaeng Pet Kai but then again nothing really beats well executed Italian dishes, be they as simple as prosciutto e melone... heel lekker! 4) Its a word play on my initials (E.C.) and the word MC (master of ceremony). Nothing really to do with Einstein's special theory of relativity. I was young and beautiful
5) Yeah, they are pretty fun to read. Not brain food, but a great time killer/filler 6) The beauty of speaking other languages is the ability to have different personalities when using each. In fact, you might as well ask if I like myself more when I speak Hebrew or when I speak English. There is a saying in German: "Wer keine zweite Sprache spricht, kennt seine Mutter sprache nicht" which translates to "S/he, who does not speak a foreign language, does not understand his/her mother tongue". Honestly, I do not know what to say. I use English on an everyday basis, whereas I probably write more Hebrew than I actually speak it. Keeping that in mind, Hebrew has a sentimental association in my eyes (and mind) to Israel, where I speak it everyday, the whole day (when I am there that is). That being said, Hebrew brings to mind memories of old friends, sandy beaches and Israeli care-free attitude while English for me is used more as a formal, educational language. Which one I like best depends on my mood, be it studious or kick-back-and-relax 7) Fish! Got a nice colorful aquarium with 30 fishy or so.
