A question for English speakers ../images/Emo9.gif

Hello! (First like me apologize for my English). I know my question might sound shallow, but I couldn't find a good answer on a dictionary: What is the meaning of the expression "wind up"? to wind up something? The question appeard while hearing this song: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/gwenstefani/winditup.html Since this is an Only English forum I cannot write in Hebrew, but it would be wonderfull if someone will also give me a good translation to Hebrew. Thanks a lot!

wind up

is used to describe what you do to a spring or coil. If you have a mechanical watch, clock, or one of these spring-operated toys (called, not surprisingly, "wind-up toys") then setting the spring is called "winding it up, and then when it is released the spring "winds down".
