"Mike - Let Us Love You" the next production of the Comedia Theatre Monday, February 8, 2010 10:24 pm - Guillaume Couture While King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table take their first steps on the stage of the Comedia in "Spamalot", the theater is already preparing the new season. It will be once again musical, since the theater will present the French version of a new musical comedy: "Mike - Let Us Love You". Musical biopics are taking place more and more in the capital. After Jacques Brel, Judy Garland or even Sarah Bernhardt, this time it's Mike Brant who will have the place of honor on the stage of a Parisian theater. A success which comes from Israel. The musical, created in Tel Aviv ( the singer's birthplace) in 2008, was a strong success. Gadi Inbar, with the help of Tzvika Brant (the singer's brother), chose to retrace, in the form of a "musical tragedy", the difficulties the singer had in achieving success. More than a biography, the musical suggests a reflexion on the course of fame. From Israel to Paris, through the singer's encounters and his songs, the spectators will be able to discover the his tragic destiny. We will find on the stage his greatest hits such as "Laisse-moi t'aimer" ("Let me love you") and "Qui saura" ("Who will Know"). New production. New staging. Thomas Le Douarec, to whom we are indebted for the musical comedy "Josephine" and the flamenco version of "Le Cid" of Corneille, will propose to the French public a new staging of this spectacle. The fans will have to wait a while longer: the premiere is anticipated for September 16, 2010 at the Comedia Theater in Paris. It is a pleasure to see the Theater once again being involved in the Parisian musical scene. After recently completed efforts, the Comedia will not be content to welcome this musical comedy, but will co-produce it as it did "Fame" or "Grease" which played during the preceding seasons of the Theater. "Mike, Let Us Love You", by Gadi Inbar. At the Comedia Theater beginning September 16, 2010. From Tuesday to Friday at 8:30pm, Saturday at 5:00pm and 9:00 pm and Sunday at 5 pm. Reservations: 01 42 38 22 22
