My father was born in 1939 in Paris, France, to Gitla and Szymon Intrator. The first few years of my father's life were spent in hiding from the Nazis in the mountains of Southern France. After the war he and his parents were able to return to Paris. The photographs and documents chosen to be digitized for this online exhibit were chosen with great care. Particularly in the case of the documents, most are in fragile condition, in various states of deterioration. Given the small number of documents that my father has from this early period of his life, and given their vulnerable state, the goal of this website is not just to provide an attractive and interesting viewing experience, but to aid in the preservation of these few significant documents. The photographs and the documents included in this small online exhibit have great personal and historical value and their preservation is extremely important to my family.
