תאונה באורגון עם CARAVAN

דן ומורדי, בהמשך לתרגולות של יום שישי האחרון, ממליץ שתקראו (פורום הבטיחות של ה DZ) על תאונת מטוס (ללא נפגעים) במועדון צניחה באורגון עם ססנה כמו שלנו. המנוע כבה בהמראה והטייס ביצע (בצורה טובה מאוד לדעת הכותבים) נחיתת חרום שהסתיימה בנזק בינוני למטוס וללא נפגעים. (קצת מזכיר את התאונה באילת) בטוח שבתחקיר המלא יהיו עובדות מעניינות שעשויות לסייע גם לנו. בנוסף היתה תאונת מסוק קטלנית ואכזרית במיוחד ברנטול כאשר הלהב הרג צלם ששוב התקרב יותר מידי. אולי כדאי לרענן במסמך או בשיעור גם את נוהלי הבטיחות סביב המטוס וכל מה שקשור לו. כולל התנהגות צנחנים על הקרקע, בזמן חרום וכו'. להתראות.

the original post : Wed. March 5th. The Cessna Grand Caravan from Wright Brothers Skydiving in Cresswel Oregon had to make an emergency landing about a mile past the end of the local runway. Upon take-off and climbout, the turbine engine shut down. With only 500 to 750 ft. AGL, the pilot had to do some quick reacting and set it down in the only available field. He did an excellent job keeping the nose light and navigating a course of mounds, and rough field. Unfortunately, because of the slippery conditions, the aircraft was not able to come to a complete stop before entering an orchard of small filbert trees. It took out a couple of trees, leaving some damage to the wings, tail, and fusalage. Once again, he did a great job with the poor landing area available, by keeping a cool head, quick reactions, and skill only found with experience. The damages could have been a lot worse. We're going to miss our Caravan until it is repaired. FAA is investigating but it is speculated that the aircraft received some contaminated fuel and the line was plugged after take-off with sediment and water. The destination was only a few miles away to the next airport to get some fuel.
