דיווח חם מאוסטרליה: : DROVER'S Run may have run its course, but someone forgot to tell the fans of McLeod's Daughters, who have been left hanging for the final episodes by Channel 9. And, according to McLeod's Daughters' leading lady Simmone Jade McKinnon they're "really angry about it". The Logie-winner told Confidential she was "sick of being stopped in the street by people and not being able to tell them anything" because the network had not even told the cast when the show's final season would air. With 22 episodes yet to be seen, McKinnon fears a flush of new dramas at Nine, including Underbelly, Sea Patrol and Canal Road, would delay the farewell even longer for loyal fans. The show's axing after eight years has also left her in the lurch, after signing a large mortgage for a property near the South Australian set just a month before the production was abandoned. "I just thought the show would go on forever, so now I'm kinda in limbo and left with this massive property mortgage on my own," McKinnon said. "People are really angry about it and I can understand how disappointed they are." Ignoring the actors' adage to never work with kids or animals, McKinnon has kept herself busy since filming on the series finished three weeks ago. At home on the range, the TV favourite hopes to turn her hand to horse agistment to make her 32ha property at Gawler profitable. And yesterday she entertained sick kids at the Sydney Children's Hospital, ahead of the Starlight Foundation's fundraising day on May 2. Well there you have it. I won’t say I told you so but I did post my thoughts about the matter in my previous posting; that with all of the new Australian drama hitting the airways Mcleod’s Daughters will get bottom priority. The question which needs to be asked now is : Who do all you people think you are demanding that Channel 9 air the final season of Mcleod’s Daughters? As far as I am concerned they own the rights to the show and they will air the final season when they are good and ready, regardless whether it’s in July 2008 or July 2009 for that matter!
