Sarah to Matt: "So, I here your looking for a wife?" Matt to Sarah: "I'm looking for someone who can understand the demands of medical school and be supportive. Realizing that the sacrifices will pay off. Someone who's kind and generous, patient and forgiving, and a sense of humor would be nice." Sarah to Matt: "I'm looking for someone who can understand the demands of medical school and be supportive. Realizing that the sacrifices will pay off. Someone who's kind and generous, patient and forgiving, and ,oh yea, a sense of humor would be nice." Sarah to Matt: "And how many babies you want from your wife." Matt to Sarah: "I could go with anywhere from one to as many as seven." Sarah to Matt: "So, are you gonna ask me out for a cup of coffee or what?" Annie to Eric: "Do you think he went to work or on a date?" Eric to Annie: "He went to work…" (Annie stares at him) "…I called" Annie to Eric: "Matt just seemed…he wouldn't." Mary to Lucy: "He wouldn't." Simon to Robbie: "He wouldn't." Ruthie to herself and Happy: "He wouldn't." Sam to David: "He wouldn't." David to Sam: "No." Matt to Sarah: "How many brothers and sisters do you have?" Sarah to Matt: "None, I'm an only child." Sarah to Matt: "I'm going to school at Columbia." Matt to Sarah: " So am I, but its not gonna be easy for me to leave my brothers and sisters. What does your father do?" Sarah to Matt: " He's a rabbi, what does your father do?" Matt to Sarah: "He's a minister, for a protestant church." Sarah to Matt: "So this is a date, we came in separate cars?" Matt to Sarah: "We'll make tomorrow night a real date." Ruthie to Matt: "Are you gonna marry her?" Matt to Ruthie: "I might!" Rabbi Glass to Matt: "So Sarah says your looking for a wife." Matt to Rabbi Glass: "I am looking for a wife." Rabbi Glass to Matt: "And you're looking outside your faith for a wife?" Rabbi Glass to Matt: "It's important my young man that you're of the Jewish faith, and I'm sure you understand why." Sarah to Rabbi Glass and Matt: "So, how's it going?" Rabbi Glass to Sarah: "How would you expect?" Sarah to Rabbi Glass: "I would expect that everything is going fine since this is a friend of mine." Rabbi Glass to Matt: "Let me see if I can explain…" Rosina Glass to Matt: "…or we can explain." Sarah to Rabbi and Rosina Glass: "Neither of you should explain, we should go." Rabbi Glass to Sarah and Matt: "No please, you go now, he might not understand, you might not understand, my dream is for you to have a nice Jewish husband, and raise nice Jewish children and carry on our nice Jewish faith, of which this friend of your, you wanna marry knows nothing." Matt to Rabbi Glass: "I could learn, couldn't I?" Rabbi Glass to Matt: "You could, but your going to medical school, I mean your gonna have enough leaning for a lifetime, what with all those names of the new germs and diseases, its overwhelming. I don't mean to offend you, but this is our daughter, and we just don't think its appropriate that your taking her out to dinner with the intent to find out if the two of you are compatible as man and wife." Sarah to Rabbi Glass: "What he should take me to bed." Rabbi Glass to Rosina Glass: "It's hard not to like him." Eric to Matt and Sarah: "You can't seriously be thinking about making a decision about marriage on your first date?" Matt to Eric: "Maybe." Sarah to Eric and Annie: "Shalom!" Eric and Annie to each other: "Did she just say Shalom?" Sarah to Matt: "You didn't forget to tell them I was Jewish did you?" Matt to Sarah: "I don't think it ever came up." Matt to Sarah: "Do you think you could marry someone who's not Jewish?" Sarah to Matt: "I never considered it before, and then last night you walked into my life, and I find you so attractive, and considerate, and passionate and it made myself wonder what it would be like to be married to you at the same time I'm frightened by the idea of being with someone so different from my family, and you?" Matt to Sarah: I don't know if I could marry someone Jewish…but I know I could marry you and your Jewish, and I respect who you are and have no desire to change you or what you believe." Sarah to Matt: "I don't want you to tell me you love me until or unless we say, "I do"." Matt to Sarah: "I don't know if I could wait that long." Sarah to Matt: "Well how long do you think that will be?" Matt to Sarah: "Let's just make a deal, lets just agree that I get to be the one to pop the question." Sarah to Matt: "But do it right, when you do it, do it like a real proposal." Matt to Sarah: (Matt begins to get down on one knee), "Sarah." Sarah to Matt: "Matt." Matt to Sarah: "Will you marry me?" Sarah to Matt: "When?" Matt to Sarah: "When, as soon as you want, you set the date." Sarah to Matt: "Yes, I accept, I will, I DO!" Eric to family: "Maybe, I'll just stand in the middle of the street so we don't miss him." Robbie to Eric: "I can go with you!" Simon to Eric: "Me too!" Mary to Eric: "Yea." Lucy to Eric: "We'll go too." Ruthie to family: "What are you doing, are you nuts, its not gonna do any good for all of us to stand out in a street in our pajamas." Annie to family: "We'll all go to bed!"
