As Lex checks his Rolex, we hear a news anchor on TV commenting on LexCorp losing an important aerospace contract to LuthorCorp. Lex is not happy and throws everything on his desk on the floor. As he gets down on the floor to get the stuff, he notices a long slender microphone hiding in the broken shards of a vase. Lex, using the name Mr. Green, tells Kern to go ahead with the plan. In Lionel´s officie, four men (Pyne, Kern, Nicky, and Bishop) are unpacking supplies from trash containers. They are going through the stuff in there with military precision. They are there not only to bug the office, as requested by their boss, but also to empty the vault. But some of the foursome don´t agree to steal... At the Kent Farm, Jonathan inquires why there is a helicopter on the lawn. Clark, followed by Lex, is carrying his father´s suit so he can go to Metropolis and dine with Martha. Lately, the couple has not been getting along. Reporters, cops, and spectators are outside the LuthorCorp tower. A reporter is commenting on the events.... armed gunmen entered LuthorCorp holding hostage Lionel and a female employee. As Clark and Jonathan watch the report on TV, they both decide to head to Metropolis to help out if they can. Lionel wants to promote Martha, which means he´ll need her more often in Metropolis. Martha doesn´t want to as what she has right now is enough and is already putting a strain on her family. The foursome works its way in the vault. They find Lionel and Martha in the building. They notice on the monitors that cops are coming in. Martha tries to convince the men to let them go, Kern says they should´ve left when he first complained. Pyne not happy, kills Kern. Lana, Henry, and Jennifer, his wife, are having coffee at the Talon. Jennifer doesn´t want Lana to get too close to Henry but not for the reasons you might think... Pyne does experiments with liquid nitrogen on broiling tumblers. They go from extreme heat to extreme cold. He shatters the frozen metal like glass. He comes out of the vault with a pallet of pure kryptonite ingots looking like gold bars. Pyne, furious at something, drops a stack of files at Lionel´s feet. Martha will be able to read what is on one file... "C. Kent - Confidential". Bishop will make a discovery: the octogonal key! Martha will describe it to Lionel who´ll decide that it is worthless. Lex comes to LuthorCorp as he talks with Pyne over his cellphone. Pyne wants 1 million and a way out of the building in exchange to the content of the vault. Pyne asks Lionel about it who quickly offers him twice the amount the "anonymous" person on the phone is offering him. Lex accepts to offer 2 millions as long as they don´t hurt Martha nor Lionel. Back in the vault, Lionel says to Pyne that he´ll have the money in any account as soon as the bank opens. Pyne accepts. (Is he playing both Luthors?) Martha tries to get the file about Clark but is being asked at gun point to throw it in the trash. Using X-Ray vision, Clark will see Pyne and Bishop holding guns toward Martha and Lionel. He rips wires which causes the lights to go out. He knocks out both men but it is too late... the kryptonite ingots are starting to make him weaker, he collapses in agony. Later, Lionel comments that Clark was ressourceful enough to save them. Lex assures him that he tried his best to save them. Lionel says that someone will go to the mansion to take his belongings. Lex will even help them pack. Henry comes to the Talon to tell Lana that he and Jennifer decided to seperate. Clark will attempt to leap a tall building in a single bound, but will he succeed?
