However when we arrived at the appartment we were pleasently surprised. All the rooms have just been renovated so are clean, spacious and have all the basics. The appartments are run by a local family who are very nice and go out of their way to help you. If you are going for a beach holiday this is probably not the place for you to stay as the beach is about a 20min walk away and it's a big hill to climb back up. But if you are going there more for the nightlife then you are within easy walking distance from the square. Just down the road from the appartments there is a very nice bar where they serve fantastic cocktails (which are very cheap) and good food. The staff there are all really friendly as well. You will recognise it by the veranda style entrance and bench sstyle seating. Ayia Napa in General is quite an expensive place - expect to pay similar prices to England. If you are going to be buying duty free you are better off waiting to get to the airport in larnaca its cheaper. The Cornelia Hotel is fantastic,just 5 minutes from the nightlife and just 10 from the beach. Couldn't be in a better spot! The hotel itself is quite small, but has everything you need. The bar does the nicest cocktails, we recommend the Traffic Lights! The pool is only small, but a real sun trap. There are loads of places to eat on the street,next to the left is gorgeous. As us being all being young the nightlife was important! All the bars and clubs are just up the street. Flat shoes are good though as its a bit bumpy! Beware of all the touts because they are annoying, but they do offer some fab drink offers. Waterworld is a must for a day out, just get on a bus outside the hotel. Costs about £12 Cyprus pounds, but is well worth it. The Atlantis slide is the best, dark tunnel with flashing lights!
