They are 100% ECN broker, which simply connects over 20 big liquidity providers, many of which are reputable banks. They don't trade against their clients, they have no reason to put anybody on manual execution. Their only financial incentive is to collect commissions. Believe me, before opening an account with them, I went to have a meeting with their president, and have closely looked at their trading floor, and operations. From my experience and from what I've heard so far about many different ECN brokers, MBTrading has the tightest spreads, especially during news times, they have best execution, and minimal slippage out of all the other ECN brokers that I've seen so far (and of course I haven't seen them all yet). MBTrading does have some drawbacks too. Their platform is a bit too complicated to get used to. They have absolutely horrible rollover rates, so I don't recommend doing any carry trades with them. You can't use their market orders for news spike trading, but only their limit orders, and MBTrading commissions are relatively high ($5K per $100K traded).
