קודם כל תודה לעידו על הצגת המכתב ושליחתו לאפר דק. Dear Upper-Deck Entertainment! Since the beginning of January this year (2005), the price of Yu-Gi-Oh booster packs in Israel has been increasing by a few NIS every time. In December 2004, the price of booster packs reached 25 NIS-28 NIS (which means, between 5.30$ to 6.00$) this is a huge amount of price, especially since the booster packs cost a lot less in other countries. During the past 2 months, the price of Yu-Gi-Oh reached 35 NIS (7.50$) for Cybernetic Revolution booster pack, and 40 NIS (8.50$) for Dark Beginning V 2. These prices are outrageous! The Economical Status in Israel is not that low, but still-paying 7$-9$ for each booster pack is unbelievable. Even structure decks cost 22$-25$ each. This cannot continue, many players don't want to buy boosters from local stores and prefer to buy cards on-line, which is cheaper (for example, they can order Cyber Dragon instead of buying 2 boosters, and it'll be the same price). Because of all that, there aren't any official tournaments in Israel (the last official tournament was the World Championship 2005 preliminaries), and many players stop playing Yu-Gi-Oh. If that will continue like it, you'll lose great community and fans, and we won't have another Championship (because no one will organize one if players do not buy booster packs). We ask you, the Israeli community and myself, the former Israeli champion and a huge fan, to try and help us in this case, and try and guarantee that Israel will take part of WC2006. Sincerely yours, Ido Marcus, the former champion, and the great Israeli community of players. Hello Ido, Thank you for bringing this problem up to us. We will discuss this problem with our official distributor in Israel. We mainly believe that the high booster prices are due to companies that take advantage of the demand in the Israeli market, and fill the demand with grey imported products (which drives the price of a booster back up). We will investigate your problem and do all we can to help the YGO community in Israel. Kind regards Upper Deck Customer Service Europe
