מה פירוש פעולת Mounting ב unix ?

שלום פעמים רבות אני נתקל במושג Mount בכל הקשור ל linux/unix מה פירוש פעולה זו ? אודה מאוד לתשובתכם

mount

whenevr a partition is needed to be seen as a directory its being mounted. for example /dev/hda1 is a partition on a HDD and you want to access it, you have to point a directory on your system to this partition and that's what mount does.​
