אני אנסה עוד פעם . במודרניזם לא היה קיום לדבר מלבד לטקסט, ועקב כך הטקסט עצמו לא הוגדר. היה זה מובן מאליו שאין קיום לדבר מלבדו ולכן חסר טעם לעסוק בדבר שכזה. ואולי נגדיר את הטקסט בתור ניסוח חיצוני של המציאות כפי שנחווית על ידינו מתוך תודעה פסאודו-אוביקטיבית. ואז בא הפוסט מודרניזם עם המודעות העצמית שלו בכך שמדובר פה בטקסט. לכן, הפומו יודע שקדם משהו לטקסט עצמו(שאותו הוא מנסה לשמר) וכמו כן הוא יודע שקיים משהו מעבר לטקסט - האינטפרטציה שלנו ל"אוביקט".
