הצעה והמלצה.

הצעה - מכיוון שבזמן האחרון אני מוצא עניין רב יותר בפורום פסיכדליה,אני רוצה להציע הצעה הלקוחה משם.כל פעם שמעלים שירשור על "מה אתה שומע עכשיו" או שמישהו ממליץ פה על אלבום מסוים , נסו לצרף קובץ תמונה של האלבום המומלץ או המושמע - זה מעניין לגעתי. המלצה - בעקבות הויכוח הנמרץ שרץ כאן לגבי נגני הגיטרה פטרוצ'י / גילמור.למי שבאמת אוהב גיטריסטים אני ממליץ לשמוע את הגיטריסט המופלא,האוונגרדי,המיוחד והמעניין ( שבזמנו הפנוי הוא בין היתר הנגן של טום וויטס ועובד הרבה עם ג'ון זורן ועם מאות תותחים נוספים ) - מארק ריבוט ( אני אישית לא מסוגל לשמוע דיסק שלם של גיטריסט כזה או אחר והוא מרתק אותי כל פעם מחדש ). יש לו המון אלבומים מצוינים ומעינינם ( לחובבי הג'אז והריו לסוגיהם ),ולכן להתחלה אני ממליץ על: Marc Ribot : "Marc Ribot y Los Cubanos Postizos" - אלבום פרי ג'אז אוונגרד עם הרבה מוסיקה קובנית , מעולה. הנה מה שכותבים עליו בין היתר: Marc Ribot, on en entend parler partout désormais, depuis ses participations guitaristiques à au moins 4 albums de Tom Waits (dont le dernier "Mule variations"), à moults projets avant-rock new-yorkais (John Zorn, Lounge Lizards et autres malades exceptionnels)… j'en oublie un paquet dont Elvis Costello. Et bien à la fin de l'année dernière, le monsieur sortait un tribute-album consacré à la légende cubaine du son, Arsenio Rodriguez. Rock d'avant-garde, pop, jazz, free, et maintenant salsa! Il sait tout faire avec sa guitare, apparemment. Accompagné d'un bassiste, d'un batteur et des percussions du vétéran du Miami Sound Machine Robert J. Rodriguez, il se lance dans cette collection magique d'adaptations à base de guitare électrique qui fusionne jazz et percussions latines. Sur quelques titres on trouve aussi un orgue, joué soit par Anthony Coleman, collaborateur de John Zorn, ou par John Medeski du célèbre trio (en tous cas en France célèbre sur le djouls.com) Medeski, Martin & Wood. Ce qui fait le bonheur de ce disque, c'est l'approche rythmique de Marc Ribot, qui intègre son jeu de guitare si personnel au groupe comme s'il s'agissait d'un instrument de percussions comme les autres, bataillant avec les figures rythmiques latines nonchalamment. Que vous soyez des puristes de la musique latine, des guitar-addicts ou des fous de jazz, cet album mérite toute votre attention.

ובאמת משמש קונטרה מוצלחת לויכוח העקר שהיה פה

אני אישית אוהב יותר את הדיסק של הלוס קובנוס פוסטיזוס- Muy Divertido! אבל בכל אופן מדובר בגיטריסט עם פיל מדהים ומיוחד. ואם יירצה השם, עוד פחות מחודש אני אראה אותו באמסטרדם

הוא היה אמור להגיע לארץ להופעה

חד פעמית בזאפה במרץ או יוני האחרון ( אני לא ממש זוכר ),אך זה התבטל משום מה.בכל אופן אם תראה אותו באמסטרדם,תעלה חוות דעת בפורום,ושתף אותנו בחוויה. האלבום שאתה ממליץ עליו גם מצוין(יש לי איזה 8 שלו וכולם טובים ),אבל הייתי חייב להמליץ על אחד בינתיים,מבחינתי כולם טובים,כי בכל דיסק שלו יש חידוש מעניין שאין בדיסק אחר.ואם אתה בקטע של זורן אז אני ממליץ לך על הופעה משולשת שיש לי בבית שבה ריבוט הוא הגיטריסט האורח לאורך כל ההופעה,ההופעה נקראת: BAR KOKHBA SEXTET - הופעה של זורן עם ההרכב שלו "מצדה" כשריבוט הוא גיטריסט בהרכב - מומלץ.

ההרכב מצדה של זורן יחד עם ריבוט מבצעים בהופעה את היצירה של זורן שנקראת "בר-כוכבא". הבאתי לך כאן פרטים מדויקים על האלבום עם זה מעניין אותך: Tzadik has already culled ten widely varied live releases from saxophonist/composer John Zorn’s month-long 50th birthday celebration two years ago at Tonic in New York. Surprisingly enough, there are still more than a few to come. It should be testament enough that a single artist has created such a broad spectrum of work and equally diverse musical contexts in which to present it. But the consistently high quality of these releases really hammers home just how much of a cottage industry Zorn has become, especially with his Masada project over the past ten years. The fact that previous 50th Birthday Celebration releases have all been single discs representing complete individual sets makes the three-CD release by the Bar Kokhba Sextet all the more significant, given that it comprises three of the four sets performed over two nights by the group—which features guitarist Marc Ribot, violinist Mark Feldman, cellist Erik Friedlander, bassist Greg Cohen, drummer Joey Baron, and percussionist Cyro Baptista, with Zorn conducting. While over three hours of music might seem like a lot to absorb, the time seems to go by in an instant, despite more than the occasional challenge. Along with the Masada String Trio (Feldman/Friedlander/Cohen) and the flagship Masada quartet (Zorn, Cohen, Baron and trumpeter Dave Douglas), the Bar Kokhba Sextet that recorded half of ‘98’s The Circle Maker has proven to be one of Zorn’s most enduring ensembles. The jagged-edged “Karet” and “Lachish” provide effective contrast to more accessible, yet no less substantive material like the hauntingly dark-tinged “Kisofim” and the hypnotically propulsive “Jachin,” making all three sets compelling from start to finish. And while some material is repeated throughout the three discs, the improvisational acumen of the players makes each tune worth revisiting. The basic arrangements may be fixed, but the soloists are not. Ribot takes an extended blues- and surf-inflected solo on the disc two version of “Lilin” alongside an in-tandem improvisation by Feldman and Friedlander; on the version that opens disc one, Feldman and Friedlander each take clearly delineated solos, with Ribot in strictly a supporting role. While Ribot, Friedman, and Friedlander are the dominant solo voices, the contributions of Cohen, Baron, and Baptista are equally vital. On tunes like “Lilin,” where a long vamp leads up to the theme, they’re absolutely key in setting the tone for what is to follow. With Baron involved in more subdued projects in recent years—like guitarist John Abercrombie’s quartet and pianist John Taylor’s trio—it’s great to hear the kind of joyful abandon that established his reputation in the first place. There’s nary a weak spot on this 50th Birthday Celebration. For fans of Zorn’s Masada project, this is essential listening; for newcomers, it’s a great entry point.

הוא ממש מעניין. ועוד נקודה סתם בשבילך:לפני כשנה בערך נערך מופע מחווה לפרנק זאפה עם המון נגני ג'אז מוכרים ועכשוויים,גם ריבוט התארח שם ונדמה לי שניגן יחד עם הרכב ג'אז שם את ביפ-בופ טנגו מרוקסי.
