Hi Yossi
I have a boy who has C.f My husband has the same mutation like the one your wife has. My mutation has not been found(I am in the 2% un known Before birth the test you can do is genetic(which in your case was not enough). You can check the water in the uterus and see if the embryo carries the mutation. if it doed you can concider an abortion but if you do so there is a 50% chanc that you aborted a healthy foetus who was just a carrier. IF the foetus does not have the mutation then it is going to be a healthy baby. after birth : 1. you can test the blood of the baby to chek if he carries your wife'S Mutation. If he does not carries it then he is 100% healthy. 2.Only if the baby carries your wife's mutation and you want to be more certain you can test his sweat.(the only test I know there is. you can repeat the test but if it was o.k Idont think you have to. IT is truth that talking about chances looks terrible when you concider your child but when it happens to you c.f becomes 100%. On the other hand you must remember that if you are between those 2% the chances that your baby will have c.f are not more then 1%. the mutations that were not foud yet are rare. I cant tell you not to worrie because I am the exact semple of the worth that can happen but still there are manny carriers Iknow who married and have healthy children.
