"The first band I thought of was the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I am a long time fan of them and I admire their career. They are a moving band, not just musically, but as people too. I sat and talked with Flea and he is so passionate about music. even today, doing it for so many years, he is still in love with creating music and playing shows. I want to keep these guys around me forever, and it is an honor to share the stage with them. they are one of my favorite bands of all time. "

Mars also explained how he chose his co-performers.
