התוכנית ללימודי נשים ומגדר בסיוע NCJW הפורום ללימודי נשים עם NCJW בחסות מענק קרן פורד מזמינים להרצאתה של פרופ´ אירית רוגוף: AN-ARCHY : Scattered Records, Evacuated Sites, Dispersed Loathings In the dictionary sense of things, the archive is the public office or record of government (Arkeios). A repository for documents which are the underpinnings for orders of knowledge and of government. In the utopian sense, the archive functions as a fantasy of plenitude. A lot of activity has been devoted to negating the objectivities and naturalized knowledges assumed by users of archives for particular scientific or empirical ends. Other efforts presented in this talk lead towards eliciting the spatialising and the performative dimension of archives and of how they are sites of production. The combined reading strategies of space, gender and performance enable us to highjack the archive from its scholastic location. Accentuating the performative aspect of the archive has allowed us to move away from solid sites of accumulated knowledges to a series of ´archive effects´. It is in these effects that I would situate the work of British video artists Jane and Louise Wilson on those specific sites in which authority has accrued through the combined technologies of bureaucracy, secrecy, menace, tradition and fear. ההרצאה תינתן באנגלית; הדיון יתנהל בעברית ההרצאה תתקיים ב-10.9.01 בשעות 18:00 - 16:00 בבניין גילמן חדר 496
