Condolences go out to Mariah Carey, as her father Alfred died of cancer on July 4th at his New York home, according to the New York Daily News. "She´s grateful that she had a chance to spend these weeks with him," her rep said. Mariah returned to Capri on Sunday to continue recording her first CD for Universal Music. Her rep said a memorial service is being planned.​

Mariahs father sadly passed away on Fourth of July. Mariah lost contact with her father when growing up, but had recently re-established it. This is what she says about her father: When I was younger, I saw him every week and after that I didn´t see him for a long time. We don´t have much in common. My father is an engineer, he is very mathematical, while I can hardly count. I resemble my mother more. She is also a singer and she support me very much in my desire to sing and entertain. But awhile ago I contacted my father again and that was very nice. Probably you see things different when you age. My father´s mother is African-American, and my father´s father is Venezuelan. I don´t think a lot of people would be able to understand it. When I was with my father, people would look at us like, "Whose child is that?" And my mother is very fair, so I obviously look more ethnic. Although it wasn´t as extreme as when I was with my father, because it´s different when people look at a black person and they see them with someone that you don´t know what they are." ​

i still can´t believe it here is the message from ashes: Gilles just received by phone the confirmation that Mariah´s dad died on July the 4th. After he asked if Mariah would be touched if we should make a special worldwide condolences page, they told me it was better to not make one, because it´s too soon, and we must give time to Mariah. No words can be found to tell Mariah that we love and support her more than ever. ashes

יגאל, צר לי גם אבל

אני יודע שאסור להגיד את זה על בן אדם מת וצריך לכבדו אבל הוא לא היה אבא למופת למראיה. אני מקווה שזה לא ישפיע על מראיה שעוברת רק דברים רעים לאחרונה. בנוסף אני מקווה שהיא תוציא בפעם הראשונה שיר על אבא שלה או על ההורים שלה.

I Know he wasn´t the perfect father but still he was MARIAH´S Father ! and what makes me sad is knowing how sad Mariah is right now,it just breaks my heart knowing she lost her father! and i don´t want to go overboard but he means to me what the father of jesus means to christian people,perfect father or not he is still the father of my goddess and to tell you the truth i just feel like i lost a very important memeber of my family

גם אני מת להיות עכשיו עם מראיה

עכשיו. להיות שם בשבילה. אבל היא יודעת בלבה שאנחנו אוהבים אותה. בכל אופן אני חושב שהמצב של מראיה עדיין רע. אני לא מבין למה הבעיות באות אלייה במכה.

Yeah when it rains it pours...i just wish i could do something to help her, it´s just kills me when all this troubles come to her one after the other! such a sweet person doesn´t desrve this mess
