London - Buses in the news.

London - Buses in the news.
Hello all, Buses and London buses do not generally feature in the general news. However, we have seem unprecedented 'exposure' of buses in the the general press. Firstly there was the trial of Peter Lee, MD of DTS, operators of routes 42 and 185, that suddenly went out of business last year. it was established that Mr Lee lost his head over a £300 a night prostitute and spent £500,000 over her, so the company was bust. He was sent to prison for 3 yrs. Then we had some all over advert buses again. Then the 3 fires while the Citaros were running in service on route 436. That lead to the dramatic withdrawl of all Citaros from service. They are now all back. Then, Transbus went out of business. The parent group, Mayflower, took over far too much debt, and the finacial director and the chair had to resign following some financial irregularities, and the banks refused to renew the loans. Transbus is the last remaining bus manufecturer in the UK. regards Yoram
