The new Bagrut

Hi leffblond, I hate to break it to you, but the format of the Bagrut exams in Math and English has changed last year. From last summer onwards, they will be in a new modular format (מבנה הצבירה). I'll give you an overview of how it works. In English, each מועד will have seven questionnaires: A, B, C, D, E, F and G. To accumulate 3 units of English, one needs to take questionnaires A, B and C. To accumulate 4 units of English, one needs to take questionnaires C, D and E. To accumulate 5 units of English, one needs to take questionnaires E, F and G. Pay attention: The 3 and 4 unit levels share questionnaire C, and the 4 and 5 unit levels share questionnare E. This is meant to make it easier for people who want to retake the Bagrut at a higher level. I took the English Bagrut (and part of the Math Bagrut) in the new format last summer (Questionnaires 16106, 16107, 16108). I'm afraid I can't remember how long each English questionnaire took; We could have found out if the ministry of education had put any of the questionnaires on the website, but unfortunately none of the questionnaires on the website are in the modular format...! Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions.

oh noooo

i heard about it and i don't think it's better than the old format... i thought it will be valid from the next summer.. i hope it is not as terrible as it sounds.. Anyway thank you very much you helped me a lot and i have to say this forum is great idea and very helpfull to improve and practice english

if I'm not terribly mistaken..

They give you approximately 2 hours to complete each questionnaire. It doesn't take that long, though. I know I spent most of the time walking around the school aimlessly. I'm sure you've heard horror stories about the bagrut, so I won't frighten you further. Lots of luck is all I can say. :)
