ספויילרים../images/Emo58.gif לעונה 11!!!

Maura: No resuscitating John-Abby romance By Gayle Fee and Laura Raposa Wednesday, June 9, 2004 Diehard ``ER'' fans shouldn't hold out for any romantic reunion between Dr. John Carter and our fave RN-turned-MD wannabe Abby Lockhart, her alter-ego, Maura Tierney, told the Track yesterday. Because even though the brooding med student will take the Hippocratic Oath next season and be Carter's ER equal, the Hyde Park homegal says there's little chance the ex-County General sweeties will rekindle their romance. In town to present Boston Arts Academy seniors Danyella R. McLean and Joshua Truitt with $2,500 scholarships the actress established in the name of her 94-year-old grandmum, Nan Tierney, Maura also weighed in on other County General news - like the departure of co-star Alex Kingston. Kingston, who played Dr. Elizabeth Corday, was put on the waiver wire by the producers after seven seasons. And shortly after, the 41-year-old actress was quoted in a British mag claiming ``ER'' pulled the plug on her character because she was part of the ``old fogeys who are no longer interesting.'' Maura defended the TV doc, saying Alex was ``kind of being tongue-in-cheek and whoever was talking to her took it literally,'' she said. ``I'm sad she's leaving, though.'' As for any other changes to the familiar faces in green scrubs - ``I don't think anyone's going to die . . . in the cast,'' she laughed. ``I'm sure many patients will die but I feel like we're all fairly safe.'' In the meantime, Maura will pop up June 24 on Bravo's ``Celebrity Poker'' series. ``I actually did fairly well. It was shocking,'' said the cardshark. ``I didn't bluff too much but I was good when I did bluff. I was incredibly nervous.'' And this fall, Tierney will shoot ``My Dead Boyfriend,'' a funny flick directed by her old ``ER'' castmate, Anthony Edwards, and written by her hubby, Billy Morrissette. Yesterday, Maura and her family, including her dad, former Boston City Councilor Joe Tierney, mom Pat and sister Deirdre Puglini made their way to the Museum of Fine Arts for the Boston Arts Academy scholarship 'do. ``When I started high school 20 years ago in Boston, I was looking for a school like this and one didn't exist,'' said the Notre Dame Academy alum. ``I'm so glad to be here today.'' Tierney told the class her grandmother - a widow who brought up seven kids in the South Boston projects - encouraged her brood to ``pursue their dreams and change their lives.'' So, she said, ``the best way to honor my grandmother is to help you people today.'' File under: A Fan O' Gran.
