של דיוויד בואי, אבל מוכר יותר בביצוע שלו עם הפט שופ בוייז ומעשה שהיה היה כדילקמנצ´יק: ניל טרנט היה בהופעה של דיויד בואי, ואחרי ההופעה הלך לאחורי הקלעים (מי נתן לו אישור בכלל...) ודיבר על אלילו. הוא אמר לו שהשיר האהוב עליו ביותר מאלבומו האחרון הוא HALLO SPACEBOY, ולדעתו צריך לעשות לו רה מיקס. דיויד בואי חייך, ואמר - או קיי, נראה אותך. אחרי שבוע מתקשר בואי ירום הודו לניל ושואל אותו אם הרה מיקס מוכן ואם אפשר לשמוע סקיצה לפחות... ניל החליף צבעים, הוא לא האמין שדיויד בואי התכוון ברצינות, וגימגם לו שתוך כמה ימים זה יהיה מוכן. ואכן.... ויקרא ניל לכריס, וישבו באולפן, ויעשו רה מיקס לשיר. ויכתבו בית חדש לשיר, ויקליטו, וישמחו עד מאוד. לפניכם המילים עם תפקידיהם של דיויד בואי (DB) וניל טרננט ׁ(NT) DB: (If I fall, moondust will cover me, moondust will cover me... כל הכבוד אלפא!

אבל משום מה תמיד נדמה לי שגם דיוויד בואי הקליט חלק מהתפקיד שלו בשיר מחדש. נורא חבל שבואי ו PSB לא עשו אלבום משותף ביחד. לפי הסינגל הזה זה היה יכול לצאת פיצוץ של דיסק.

Major tom coming home - של פיטר שילינג (מייג´ור טום בטח היה מתאבד אם היה שומע באיזה אופן עלוב הוא מוחזר הבייתה) ולא לשכוח את Ashes to Ashes של בואי. ויש גירסא אקוסטית דכאונית של Space Oddity שבואי הקליט ב- 1980. לא מחליף את הביצוע מ- 69, אבל שווה שמיעה. מה שלא שווה שמיעה (פרט לגימיק) היא גירסת הבוסר של בואי מ- 1967, שמוכיחה כמה אפילו להפקה פשוטה יחסית יש חשיבות עצומה באיכות השיר.

אני חושש שכבר חרגנו מזמן

מגבולות ה- 80. אבל מה זה משנה? כבר הוכחנו בעבר שכל המוזיקה הטובה היא משנות ה- 80, לכן כל שיר טוב הוא בהכרח משנות ה- 80, אפילו אם הוא יצא בשנות ה- 90 או ה- 70. ואני ממש ממש, אבל ממש, לא אוהב את simply red ובעיקר את השיר הזה. רק להיזכר בו גורם לקוסקוס מארוחת הצהרים שלי לתהחיל לחפש בבהילוט דרכי מילוט. וקוסקוס עצבני הוא משהו שבהחלט לא כדאי להתעסק איתו.
