They had a groove that was better than any sex I'd ever had up to that point. They were playing all my favorite licks,stuff from "Route 66" in the middle of "Let me love you baby". Joe would start playing the stutter from "Whole lotta love" but it would turn into "Shapes of things". I actually experienced what I can only describe as an epiphany during a song called "Rattlesnake Shake".There was just something about the way joe played it, this whole fuckin' train feeling. The energy was just so intense. I looked and it was like Joe Perry was the electric guitar. I thought, If I can put that energy together with something that my father gave me,that classical influence,we might have something.Look at this guy… Next afternoon im mowing the lawns at Trow-Rico Lodge. The big gravely mower was real loud,but I heard a noise and when I looked up I see Joe Perry sitting in our driveway in his little sports car.He's got dark glasses on. I killed the motor and went over and I blurted out, "Hey! Maybe someday we'll have a band together!".I'll never forget saying that to him for the rest of my life. Those words are still in the trees and rocks around Trow-Rico. They heard me say it. Those words are still echoing there in the woods by the lake.
