לו היה סיכוי שנחיה עוד 4 דורות הייתי מתערב איתך על כך שבעוד 4 דורות יהיו בארה"ב יותר מ2000000 יהודים, רובם לא חרדים (ואם לדייק אז רובם יהיו קונסרבטיבים). חילקת את ההתבוללות מוזר מאוד, הרפורמים מופיעים גם ראשונים וגם אחרונים, אין בכך כל היגיון. ההתבוללות אינה סכנה, כל העולם מתערבב וככל שהוא מתערבב יותר שיעור המעורבים באוכלוסיה עולה והכף נוטה יותר נגד הגזענות והגזענים, העולם רק יוצא נשכר מכך שבני עמים שונים ודתות שונות מתערבבים וכך גם אותם ילדים מעורבים אשר הוכח כי הם בריאים יותר מסיבות גנטיות.

quick answer: you see i’m agnostic – haven’t a clue if there’s someone upstairs…not really bothered (actually ask me in 50 years – conveniently i might change my mind… you know keeping options open en all). but, and it’s a big but, my background is jewish/israeli or vice versa. i feel that this identity is my crown jewels and am quite fortunate for it. living in a cosmopolitan secular/christian (predominantly) society emphasises this. of course i am influenced by the local culture but my core, if you like, hasn’t really changed. and sure my background impacts people (rarely israelis) that cross my path. I feel motivated to inform or even softly attempting to re-educate people about jews/israel if the issue arises (by others’ initiative). if i’ll make one zionist of those who initiate engagement it would be as if i’ve ‘saved a soul’.. . re the next generation – it’s complex – on the one hand i want them to be as myself on the other how could they if born here? paradox. in short, ‘mitbolel’ isn’t the right word to describe me, a better one would be – ‘mehayed’ (very rich coming from someone who knows very little about religion) or even better ‘israelising’ the locals.​
