Go and investigate
I suggest you go and investigate a little. Make a research! Go to the different places and ask students and see for yourself. Look at the teachers list to see if there are any "big" names, see the facilities and of course, the location. Find out if the college credits you with a B.A or just a designer diploma. As for the different schools around, I must say that as a recent graduate from holon, I see major differences between schools. Every school has its own agenda and you must find the one that fits your own aspirations. Holon is regarded as a good school- the standarts are high, the competition between students is strong, and its agenda is less artistic and much more practical. You can find the same standarts in Vitso Haifa. It is a very good school. As to Bezalel, it is still regarded as the best academy around, and its name is not only familiar in Israel but also abroad. Bezalel's agenda is very artistic and intelectual, some say very 'hot air'. I tend to agree with the critics on that, but I also admit that Bezalel's standarts are much higher than any school around, including my beloved holon, and it is a class on its own. Mind you, the competition and ego involved in Bezalel are much worse than anywhere else, so if a fiercly competative enviroment is not your idea for a good time, dont go there. As to Ascola-Meimad and Shenkar-Vital, it is generally accepted that their standarts are lower than holon, vitso and bezalel, but their agenda is industry-minded and their graduates portfolios carry a larger number of branding, packaging and advertising works than any other graduate. Good luck!
