ראובןהלך לעולם שכולו טוב (כך אנו רוצים לקוות) והכל עבורו תם ונשלם. ואנחנו כאן נמשיך "לרכוב בשביל החיים" (כמו שכתב הרוכב \ הקופירייטר דויד ניצן). נמשיך להזיע, להתענג על עלייה טובה וירידה מפחידה, נופים מרתקים ופסטורליים, זריחות ושקיעות, פחממות וקלוריות, בדיחות של קוץ וארני, XTR ומסלולים מיוחדים,וצילומים למזכרת על כל גבעה ועץ רענן. והעיקר הרבה הומור המגן על נפשנו השברירית מפני הסוף הידוע מראש, ממנו אנו כה פוחדים ומכחישים את הימצאותו. המוות כצל גדול ומאיים גם בלילות החשוכים ביותר. המוות בן לוויה קבוע איתו אנו מבלים באשר נלך. ראובן היה רוכב נאמן ומסור, ומכור לאופניים, אני בטוח שבקשתו לנו היא להמשיך ולעשות את מה שאנחנו אוהבים עד אחרית הכוחות - יהי זכרו ברוך

ראובן - תחסר לנו
ראובן, הפך לחלק מאתנו (רכסים) למרות היותו אנטי תזה לתפיסת הרכיבה שלנו. יש טיול עם עליות קשות,אשר בעליל אינו טיול לראובן. קטן עליו,ראובן ישבור את העליה - ברגל, בדרך עוקפת - הוא ממשיך. נחוש בדרכו לא ויתר וגם הוביל טיולים בשבילים שלא הכרנו. "מי צריך מפה?" טען, הכרותו עם השבילים הייתה מקסימלית, וגם היסטוריה לא הייתה נעדרת מטיולנו שכן היה מאגר של ידע בנושא. בטיולים שהוביל תמיד דאג לרוכבים כמו אם לילדיה:"המסלול יפה", "אף אחד לא חסר" וגו. בכל אירוע אפשרי פתח שולחן בנדיבות ואף רדה בנו שנאכל כי "יש מספיק". ראובן יחסר לי. יהי זכרו ברוך.

Hi Guys, Just two weeks ago, as we were riding together; Reuven asked me "why are you so quiet today?" He immediately added in his typical loving, and kind nature "seig lechocma steika". Later on while drinking wine before parting to celebrate Pesach he said " Yaiin yesamach levav enosh". He interpreted this old saying as a prophecy of the recent discoveries that moderate amount of red wine is good for the heart. He made it a habit to drink red wine in moderation. He was right to do so; he had a golden heart worth protecting. It is, therefore, an irony that he among all of us would ne taken away by a failing heart. You know that I love you all, but reuven was special to me. He was special because of his generosity and kindness. He was special because he noticed others and cared. He was special because he was willing to organize trips and help in others. But most of all, Reuven was a special member of Rechasim because he reminded us that biking is just a part of what we do. He reminded us that we are not training for the next olympic games. He reminded us that we are a group of lucky people with good health and similar attitude enjoying together the gift of life. It is therefore, so cruel that he among all of us will be taken away so early. If I could I would tell Reuven that he made me cry. If I could I would tell him that I'll think of him in each and every one of our future rides. If I could I would tell him that he reminded me again that it is all a gift. I will miss him. We all will. Yehi Zechro Baruch.

Hi David, I was saddened to hear of Reuven’s passing. I will remember him as a gentleman, a gentle man, a good guy, a man who loved biking and friends and as a man who took charge of and loved organizing our picnics and lunches. He left us way too early. In his death he reminds us to take care of ourselves, family and friends, to enjoy life to its fullest as it short and fleeting. Please convey my best wishes to his family and let me know what Rechasim is doing so I could participate to the extent possible from Los Angeles. Yours as always, Uzy
